World No.1 and Paris Olympic gold medalist Scottie Scheffler (USA) has won the FedEx Cup trophy for the first time.

On the 1st (local time), at East Lake Golf Club (Par 71, 7,490 yards) in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, Scheffler achieved a commanding 5-stroke victory (30-under) in the final third round of the 2024 PGA Tour FedEx Cup Playoffs Tour Championship. Entering the Tour Championship as the No.1 in the FedEx Cup rankings, Scheffler received a 10-under stroke bonus and posted 20-under over four days. This marked his 7th win of the season, including this year’s Masters victory, his 13th career win, and earned him a winner’s prize of $25 million (approximately 33.4 billion KRW).

Scheffler competed in the tournament as the FedEx Cup No.1. With a comfortable 10-under stroke bonus, he played with ease. During the tournament, his combination of driver, irons, and putter was outstanding. His average driving distance was 338.60 yards (1st place). After hitting long drives, he targeted the greens with short irons. His greens in regulation rate was also 75% (1st place). This was why his competitors found it difficult to catch up to him.

Additionally, his fairway hit rate was 66.07% (tied 2nd), and he averaged only 1.56 putts per green in regulation (3rd place). Scheffler used the TaylorMade Qi10 driver (8 degrees) and fairway wood (15 degrees), perfectly combining distance and forgiveness. His irons were a combination of Srixon ZU85 (#3-4) and TaylorMade P7TW (#5-PW). For his exceptional short game, he used Titleist Vokey Design SM8 wedges (50, 56 degrees) and WedgeWorks SM9 Proto (60 degrees).

His putter was the TaylorMade Spider Tour X. He chose Titleist Pro V1 balls. Scheffler said, "In the past two years, I started as the leader but couldn’t win, which left a bitter taste. Finally holding the Tour Championship trophy is very special. Overall, it was a great and proud year."
