Binggrae Releases New Commercial Featuring Shin Yubin
Shin Yubin Also Sings the Advertisement Song Herself
Table tennis national team player Shin Yu-bin's newly filmed Binggrae Banana Flavored Milk commercial has been released.
On the 2nd, Binggrae announced that it had unveiled a new Banana Flavored Milk commercial featuring Shin Yu-bin on the 30th of last month. This commercial was created with the concept of Shin Yu-bin, born in 2004, parodying the Banana Flavored Milk commercial from 2004. The commercial begins with a scene where Shin Yu-bin opens the refrigerator after training, and a flood of Banana Flavored Milk bottles pours out. This scene closely resembles the advertisement of the same product from 20 years ago, evoking nostalgia for consumers who remember the original commercial. The background music is a rewritten version of Sanulrim’s "Mother and Mackerel," the song from the commercial 20 years ago, sung by Shin Yu-bin herself.

Additionally, the commercial video includes scenes where Shin Yu-bin uses the Banana Flavored Milk product to perform the "Banana Flick" (a backhand topspin technique involving a wrist flick on the table) that she showcased on a variety show, as well as a parody of the medal ceremony she displayed at the Paris Olympics. In the commercial, Shin Yu-bin drinks Banana Flavored Milk with an ice pack on her head, just like she did during the Paris Olympic competition.
"It was a happy shoot because I got to drink a lot of the milk I usually enjoy"
Shin Yu-bin expressed, "I am happy to participate in the Banana Flavored Milk advertising campaign," adding, "It was a happy shoot because I got to drink a lot of the Banana Flavored Milk that I usually enjoy." A Binggrae representative said, "We added Shin Yu-bin’s fresh and cheerful charm to the familiar Banana Flavored Milk advertisement," and "We hope everyone looks forward to Banana Flavored Milk with Shin Yu-bin going forward."
During the Paris Olympics, Shin Yu-bin earned a new nickname, "Mukbang Fairy," following "Ppiyaki," by showing herself snacking on bananas and rice balls during breaks in competition. Capturing public attention with her cute way of eating various foods, Shin Yu-bin was selected last month as a model for Binggrae Banana Flavored Milk and bhc Chicken’s Bburinkle. Subsequently, Shin Yu-bin donated 100 million KRW from her advertising model fee to the Korea Elementary School Table Tennis Federation. While negotiating the advertising model contract, Shin Yu-bin’s side hoped to make a donation together with Binggrae for the development of Korean table tennis, and Binggrae plans to discuss support measures with the federation to join the athlete’s intention.
The Binggrae Banana Flavored Milk commercial featuring Shin Yu-bin as the model has recorded 1.99 million views just three days after being uploaded on Binggrae’s official YouTube channel.
