Choi Ho-kwon, Yeongdeungpo District Mayor, Awards Meritorious Service Commendations on Gender Equality Week

Choi Ho-gwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo District, attended the '2024 Gender Equality Week Commemoration Event' held on the afternoon of the 2nd at the auditorium on the 5th floor of the district office annex.

At the commemoration event, Mayor Choi Ho-gwon of Yeongdeungpo District, along with distinguished contributors to the spread of gender equality culture, shared the spirit of the 'Women’s Rights Circular'?which originated Gender Equality Week?and the modern values of gender equality.

Every year, from September 1st to 7th is designated as 'Gender Equality Week' under the Framework Act on Gender Equality. Starting with the commendation ceremony for contributors on the 2nd, the district will hold various commemorative events including ▲ September 3rd ‘Plant Healing Class for Elderly Caregivers’ ▲ September 4th ‘Special Lecture for Caregivers ? Parenting Without Losing Myself’ ▲ September 5th ‘Cooking Class with Dad’ ▲ September 6th Jazz Concert Enjoyed with Residents.

Mayor Choi Ho-gwon of Yeongdeungpo District stated, “I hope this Gender Equality Week will be a good opportunity to create a society where everyone is respected, works together, and cares for each other,” and added, “We will continue to strive to widely promote the importance and value of gender equality in the local community through beneficial and engaging programs.”
