The Korea Communications Standards Commission announced on the 2nd that it will introduce and implement an ARS reporting and consultation fast track for victims of deepfake sexual crime videos being distributed through platforms such as Telegram.
Accordingly, for the 1377 ARS, the existing guidance messages have been minimized so that users can directly select the dedicated reporting and consultation service (option 3).
The introduction of the fast track has reduced the waiting time to connect with a consultation staff member by approximately 2 minutes.
Additionally, the electronic civil complaint portal on the website, another route for victim complaints, has been completely revamped. On the 27th of last month, a 'Deepfake Sexual Crime Video Reporting Dedicated Banner' was established, and a popup guiding users to press '1377 then 3' for 24-hour fast track reporting connection was installed and continuously displayed.
The Commission plans to actively gather reporters' feedback and continuously improve the overall civil complaint services going forward.
