[2025 Early Admission Special] Ajou University Expands Medical School Recruitment... Pharmacy Department Also Selects Through 'Essay'

Medical Department: 40 via Student Record Screening, 20 via Essay Exam

Ajou University will select 1,572 students in the 2025 academic year early admission. Due to the increase in medical school admission quotas, 60 students will be selected through early admission alone. The Division of Liberal Arts and Sciences has been newly established, and advanced departments have been expanded and reorganized.

Through the comprehensive student record screening, the university will recruit 560 students for the ACE track, 184 for the Advanced Convergence Talent track, 91 for the Equal Opportunity 1 track, 54 for the Equal Opportunity 2 track, 10 for the Special Education Target track, and 111 for the track for employed graduates from specialized high schools. The ACE track, the representative comprehensive student record screening, selects three times the number of candidates in the first stage based on 100% document evaluation, and in the second stage, 70% of the first stage score and 30% interview results are reflected. The medical and pharmacy departments apply minimum CSAT score requirements, while all other departments do not.

The Advanced Convergence Talent track under the comprehensive student record screening selects 184 students from the Department of Advanced New Materials Engineering, Department of Applied Chemistry, Department of Intelligent Semiconductor Engineering, Department of Future Mobility Engineering, Department of Software, Department of Financial Engineering, and the College of Advanced Bio Convergence. Ajou University newly established the College of Advanced Bio Convergence this year and expanded the AI Mobility Engineering Department into the Future Mobility Engineering Department. The first stage selects three times the number of candidates based on 100% document evaluation, and the second stage reflects 70% of the first stage score and 30% of the interview for final selection.

The student record screening (high school recommendation track), which selects 351 students, reflects 100% of the student record subjects excluding extracurricular activities. As in the previous year, there is no limit on the number of recommendations per school. The minimum CSAT score requirement for both natural sciences and humanities is a combined grade of 5 or less in two subjects among Korean, Math, English, and Social Studies/Science (one subject from either social or science).

178 students will be selected through the essay track, and unlike before, the pharmacy department will also select 5 students through the essay track in the 2025 early admission.

In particular, Ajou University's medical school will select 110 students, more than double the previous quota of 40. By track, 40 students will be selected through the comprehensive student record ACE track, 20 through the essay excellence track, and 50 through the CSAT-based track. The newly established Division of Liberal Arts and Sciences is divided into natural sciences and humanities and will recruit a total of 30 students through early admission.

The Practical Skills and Achievements track (Defense IT Elite 1 track) is a track that selects 33 students from the Department of Defense Digital Convergence, which has a contract with the Air Force to cultivate elite officers in the defense information and communication technology (ICT) field. In the first stage, three times the number of candidates are selected based on 100% document evaluation, and in the second stage, the final selection is made by combining 70% of the first stage score and 30% of the interview. Successful candidates receive full tuition coverage and guaranteed dormitory admission. Students in this department can be commissioned as Air Force second lieutenants upon graduation without separate military training.
