Wielding a Weapon in a Goshi-tel
"Comes to My Room to Pick a Fight When Drunk"
One Person Is an Illegal Immigrant
A stabbing incident occurred among Chinese nationals at a goshiwon in Osan.
On the 2nd, the Osan Police Department announced that they arrested two Chinese men in their 50s, Mr. A and Mr. B, on charges of attempted murder. The two wielded knives at each other around 9:35 PM on the 1st at a goshiwon located in Osan.
On the day of the incident, Mr. A, intoxicated, went up to the second-floor goshiwon room where Mr. B resided. Holding a knife, he argued with Mr. B, saying "Don't mess around." During the altercation, Mr. A tried to stab Mr. B in the abdomen, but Mr. B blocked the knife with his hand. Instead, Mr. B took the knife away and stabbed Mr. A once in the abdomen and struck his face multiple times with the handle of the knife.
Afterwards, Mr. B reported, "There is someone who came with a knife intending to kill me," and the police who arrived at the scene found and arrested them in the hallway in front of Mr. B’s residence. Mr. A was seriously injured in the abdomen and face and was transported to Ajou University Hospital, while Mr. B reportedly sustained cuts on his hand.
Investigations revealed that Mr. A and Mr. B lived on different floors of the same goshiwon and only knew each other by face. Upon verifying their identities, it was found that Mr. A was an undocumented immigrant. Mr. B stated, "Mr. A usually had a drinking problem and would come to my room to pick fights whenever he was drunk." The police plan to apply for arrest warrants after conducting a detailed investigation into the incident.
