Busan City Expands and Upgrades 'One-Stop Business Support Center'... Leading Innovative Corporate Support Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry

This expansion and reorganization is part of the 'One-Stop Rapid Support Plan for Corporate Investment,' which was established during the 44th Emergency Economic Countermeasures Meeting presided over by Mayor Park Hyungjoon in June.

The purpose of strengthening the center's accessibility and functions is to swiftly resolve unreasonable regulations and difficulties faced by companies and to efficiently support their business activities. This also follows the city's acceptance last year of the Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry's proposal for a joint regional corporate communication platform.

The center, led by the city's corporate ombudsman, carries out projects such as ① receiving and consulting on corporate difficulties, ② investigating current issues and trends in corporate challenges, ③ field visits to identify corporate difficulties, ④ providing consulting in specialized fields such as law, tax, and labor, and ⑤ submitting proposals for regulatory improvements to central government ministries and related organizations.

The Busan Economic Promotion Agency, which has extensive experience in operating integrated call centers and supporting businesses, has been entrusted with operating the center.

For the expansion and reorganization, the city relocated the One-Stop Corporate Support Center, which had previously operated in an 18㎡ space on the first floor of City Hall, to a 69㎡ space on the first floor of the Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which is closely connected to the business field. This allows local companies to visit conveniently and communicate easily at any time.

Additionally, the city is working to enhance the center's responsiveness and expertise in resolving corporate difficulties, further strengthening its policy functions by operating a joint corporate field visit team with the Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry and expanding the number of companies visited.

At the opening ceremony, Mayor Park, Yang Jaesaeng, Chairman of the Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Song Bokcheol, President of the Busan Economic Promotion Agency, and about 30 representatives of leading Busan companies are expected to attend and celebrate the opening.

In addition to the expansion and reorganization of the One-Stop Corporate Support Center, the city has been leading innovative corporate support since establishing the dedicated One-Stop Corporate Support Team on July 1.

On August 26, the city dispatched one 'Corporate Policy Cooperation Officer' and one administrative staff member to the Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry to provide close support. They serve as a unified one-stop communication channel between the city and the Chamber, playing roles in resolving corporate difficulties, collaborating on projects, and coordinating policy issues.

The dispatch of city officials was implemented after Mayor Park actively accepted the proposal of Yang Jaesaeng, Chairman of the Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, at the 44th Emergency Economic Countermeasures Meeting.

Furthermore, to support the prompt execution of investments by companies that have signed investment agreements with the city, 'One-Stop Corporate Investment Support Officers' have been designated and are being operated by region, with dedicated officers also assigned to large business sites.

The city plans to divide the area into three zones (Eastern Industrial Complex, Western Industrial Complex, and other regions), assigning dedicated officers to each zone to provide tailored on-site support and close assistance whenever investment companies face difficulties.

For example, the administrative process period for permits related to the construction of the Busan plant of IQ Lab, a power semiconductor company, was minimized through active cooperation with Gijang-gun. The city is also actively supporting the smooth progress of projects such as Renault Korea's development of new electric vehicles, Geumyang's construction of a power semiconductor production plant, and Oriental Precision & Engineering's establishment of a research and development (R&D) campus.

Going forward, the city will comprehensively review the impact on the local economy, including future new industries and strategic sectors, investment and job creation scale, and corporate difficulties. Based on this, the city plans to expand the number of companies supported by dedicated officers through the One-Stop Investment Support Council.

Mayor Park Hyungjoon stated, "There are many policies and issues that we will address in cooperation with the Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry to create a business-friendly environment. Based on the close cooperation system established through the expansion and reorganization of the One-Stop Corporate Support Center and the dispatch of the Corporate Policy Cooperation Officer, we plan to create a unique and innovative one-stop corporate support system for Busan, and we will continue to make every effort to create a city where citizens and businesses are happy."
