Hyundai Motor Company and Kia announced on the 2nd that they won three Grand Prix awards and 16 Honorable Mentions in the '2024 Red Dot Award: Brands & Communication Design' category.
Organized by the Design Center of North Rhine-Westphalia in Germany, the 'Red Dot Award' is one of the world's top three design awards, selecting outstanding designs annually in the categories of Product Design, Brands & Communication Design, and Design Concepts.
Hyundai Motor Company received the Grand Prix in the Brands & Communication Design category for its print advertisement using the Pony Coupe Concept restoration model, the Ioniq 5 Robotaxi autonomous driving technology campaign video, and the Ioniq Lab & E-GMP performance.
The Pony print advertisement, unveiled 49 years after the restoration of the Pony Coupe Concept, was inspired by the golden age of automobile advertising in the 1970s. It was produced by referencing classic elements such as the slogans, layout, and photo editing techniques of Hyundai's past advertisements.
The Ioniq 5 Robotaxi autonomous driving technology campaign video depicted a future where various customers, including visually impaired individuals, can move freely without mobility restrictions, showcasing Hyundai's brand vision of "Progress toward Humanity." Hyundai also won a total of 14 Honorable Mentions, including the advertisement highlighting the history of women's soccer, "FIFA Women’s World Cup," and the April Fools' campaign introducing a new mobility option for pets, "Hyundai 2024 Dogbility."
