Samsung Electro-Mechanics announced on the 2nd that it received the '2024 Supplier of the Year Component Award' at the Qualcomm Supplier Summit held in San Diego, USA.

Qualcomm conducts a comprehensive evaluation of about 130 suppliers across 15 countries in all sectors and awards the 'Supplier of the Year Award' to the top suppliers in eight categories. Suppliers in the automotive, computer, extended reality (XR), and industrial Internet of Things (IoT) fields are among those evaluated.

Samsung Electro-Mechanics is recognized as the largest semiconductor substrate company in Korea, leading the substrate industry with differentiated technology in semiconductor substrates such as BGA and FCBGA.

It holds the number one market share for semiconductor substrates used in the highest-spec mobile application processors (AP). It was the first in Korea to mass-produce server semiconductor substrates, which are the most technically challenging among semiconductor substrates.

Jang Deok-hyun, CEO of Samsung Electro-Mechanics, said, "Through this award, we have been recognized for having the industry's highest level of semiconductor substrate technology in areas such as BGA and FCBGA. Samsung Electro-Mechanics will do its best to further enhance customer value through differentiated quality and innovative technology development."

Roawen Chen, Qualcomm’s Chief Supply Chain and Operations Officer (CSCOO), stated, "Suppliers are essential partners as Qualcomm diversifies its business across industries."
