Did not go to school, broadcasting station dispatched a helicopter
Found playing iPad on rooftop of residence, returned to family
A 9-year-old boy went missing in the United States, prompting a TV station to even deploy a helicopter. The helicopter found the boy on the rooftop of his residential building. After a moment of worry, it turned out the boy was skipping school while watching an iPad.
Recently, a related report by CBS News, which deployed the helicopter, has become a hot topic in the U.S. According to CBS News, on the 22nd (local time), a 9-year-old boy went missing around 7 a.m. while heading to school from an apartment building in Brooklyn, New York. When the boy did not arrive at school, his parents reported him missing to the police. The police provided information about a child wearing a distinctive orange necktie. CBS News New York sent Chopper 2 (the station’s helicopter) to the area to investigate. Eventually, the helicopter spotted a child with a similar appearance on the rooftop of the building where the family lives. Zooming in with the camera, the clothing and appearance closely matched those of the missing boy.
CBS News New York informed the New York Police Department, and the helicopter waited overhead until they arrived. A CBS reporter said, "The boy packed his computer and backpack and left with the police," adding, "They gave our helicopter a big thumbs-up and took the boy back to his parents." A neighbor of the boy told CBS News New York, "I saw the child on the rooftop community space Thursday morning, but I didn’t think much of it until I heard what had happened," and added, "The boy sitting on the rooftop bench was using an iPad. I thought he had his parents’ permission."
