On the 31st at 10 a.m., Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon District, attended the Nowon Future Education District 'Sustainable Development Education Forum' held in the multipurpose room on the 5th floor of the Nowon District Health Center.

This forum was organized to discuss specific development strategies related to the social and economic sectors for a sustainable Nowon, following the Sustainable Development Education Academy and public forum held in 2023, and to propose educational policies.

At the forum, participants shared cases related to 'Sustainable Development Education' and explored actionable agendas. The theme was 'Nowon, a city where children and youth want to continue living,' with various discussions held in each session.

The first session was a discussion under the theme 'Nowon where youth design their own lives.' Starting with a case presentation by Lee Seung-hoon, Director of Gongneung Youth Culture and Information Center, ways to create an environment where youth can lead independent and creative lives were discussed.

The second session, themed 'Nowon with good jobs,' began with a case presentation by Kim Dong-hwan, CEO of Local Lab, followed by sharing opinions. Various ideas on revitalizing the local economy and creating jobs for young people were proposed.

About 100 people attended the forum, including Mayor Oh Seung-rok, National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-shik, National Assembly member Kim Sung-hwan, city council members, district council members, youth, teachers, parents, youth organization workers, and residents. The event proceeded in the order of ▲Opening ▲Congratulatory remarks ▲Case presentations ▲Discussion ▲Sharing results ▲Closing.

Mayor Oh Seung-rok stated, "Through this forum, we were able to hear diverse opinions and suggestions from residents for a 'Sustainable Nowon.' We will concretize the various ideas from today's forum into policies to create changes that residents can feel."
