Woori Financial Group announced on the 1st that it held a donation ceremony for employee contributions at the ‘Goodwill Store Milal Woori Financial Branch’ on the 30th of last month. The event was attended by several officials, including Woori Financial Chairman Lim Jong-ryong and Hong Jeong-gil, Chairman of the Milal Welfare Foundation.
Starting with Woori Fund Service in May, Woori Financial has conducted a donation relay of over 40,000 Goodwill Store items over three months, involving all employees from 15 group companies including the holding company. The donation relay concluded last Friday with the holding company’s donation ceremony.
Building on this donation relay, Woori Financial plans to encourage major client companies to participate in donation relays to widely promote the culture of giving together with Goodwill Store. To this end, a ‘WOORI Donation Relay Wall’ will be installed at the entrance of the ‘Goodwill Store Milal Woori Financial Branch,’ where plaques bearing the names of subsidiaries that participated in the donation and client companies that expressed their intention to donate will be displayed.
Chairman Lim stated, "The relay donation voluntarily participated in by employees has become a catalyst for spreading a greater culture of giving," adding, "Going forward, Woori Financial will continue to take the lead with client companies in establishing an economic foundation for the independence of people with developmental disabilities."
