The 'Britpop legend' Oasis, reuniting after 15 years, has announced a tour, sparking an unprecedented 'picketing' (fierce ticketing) war.
According to the UK BBC on the 29th (local time), Oasis plans to hold a total of 14 shows for their 30th anniversary tour, starting in Wales on July 4 next year, then moving through Manchester, London, Edinburgh, and finally Dublin, Ireland.
As this will be their first tour since reuniting after 15 years, intense ticket competition is already anticipated. After the tour announcement, Oasis's official website server crashed, and posts from anxious fans worried about securing tickets have appeared on social media platforms (SNS) and online. Previously, Oasis stated, "We will provide tickets as fairly as possible to as many fans as we can," and held a lottery for pre-sale tickets, but the large number of applicants caused delays in the lottery process. Oasis also clarified, "Winning the lottery does not guarantee a ticket, as tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis."
Ticket prices range from the cheapest ?73 (approximately 128,000 KRW) to ?506 (approximately 889,000 KRW). Depending on the ticket price, various perks such as pre-show parties are included. The media predicts that ticket reselling will be rampant, with resale prices expected to be beyond imagination. They warned, "Be especially cautious of sellers on SNS accounts without followers." They also advised, "When purchasing tickets from individual sellers, make payments through platforms that have buyer protection systems."
Meanwhile, formed in 1991, Oasis is a legendary British rock band that left numerous hits such as 'Don't Look Back in Anger' and 'Live Forever,' selling over 90 million records worldwide. After breaking up in 2009 due to conflicts between brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher, Oasis has officially reunited, overcoming their differences, making the 'Oasis Live 25' tour concert next year highly likely.
