'Hope Hwaseong Local Currency' Incentive Raised from 7% to 10% for September-October
Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 30th that it will increase the incentive for the 'Hope Hwaseong Local Currency' from 7% to 10% for the two months of September and October in celebration of Chuseok.
This is aimed at revitalizing the local economy and increasing sales for small business owners ahead of the holiday season.
With this incentive increase, if you recharge the monthly limit amount of 300,000 KRW for incentive payment in September and October, the actual usable amount will increase to 330,000 KRW.
The Hope Hwaseong Local Currency can be used at small business stores within Hwaseong City with annual sales of 1.2 billion KRW or less. Store verification and local currency recharge can be done through the Gyeonggi Local Currency app.
Meanwhile, since June, the city has been operating a 'Cashback Event' at designated 'Good Price Stores' within the city, where customers who pay 10,000 KRW or more using the Hope Hwaseong Local Currency receive 5% of the payment amount back in local currency, up to a maximum of 50,000 KRW per month. 'Good Price Stores' are businesses designated by the city that have contributed to stabilizing local prices through affordable prices and friendly service. The city supports these stores with consumable and asset supplies, kitchen cleaning costs, and delivery fees for delivery customers.
Jung Myung-geun, Mayor of Hwaseong City, said, "Using local currency is a win-win strategy for restoring the local economy through thrifty consumption and increased sales for small business owners," and added, "We hope citizens show great interest in and use small business stores and local currency."
