Campaign to Foster and Spread a Safety Culture in Manufacturing Sites
The Busan Regional Safety and Health Practice Promotion Group (Anshildan) visited the Busan plant of Samsung Electro-Mechanics located in Gangseo-gu on the 29th to hold the August Safe Workplace Day event, aiming to foster and spread a culture of safety in the manufacturing sector.
The Busan Regional Safety Culture Practice Promotion Team operated the Safety Workplace Creation Day in August.
On this day, about 30 members of Anshildan (including the Ministry of Employment and Labor, Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency, Samsung Electro-Mechanics Busan Plant, Korea Electric Power Corporation, Korea Industrial Complex Corporation, Korea Industrial Safety Association, Korea Safety Technology Association, and Busan Employers Federation, among others) inspected the site focusing on the three major types of accidents (falls, entrapment, and collisions), and checked the status of the safety and health management system and ongoing safety and health activities.
The event proceeded in the following order: introduction of the workplace, presentation of safety and health activities, workplace inspection and risk sign attachment campaign, safety sticker application, and hands-on experience at the safety training center.
In addition, efforts were made to spread the atmosphere of safety emphasis at the site and to foster a safety culture by encouraging both employers and employees to practice safe behaviors.
