Through a letter signed by Chairman Ryu Hee-rim, the KCSC urgently requested support to enable direct communication with Telegram and to establish a permanent cooperative relationship concerning future issues related to Telegram.

The KCSC explained the serious social damage recently occurring in Korea due to deepfake sexual crime videos on Telegram, specifying the types of crimes involved and noting that the main victims of this crime, which involves 220,000 people, are minors.

The KCSC stated that since a contact channel with the French investigative authorities has been secured, it expects ongoing cooperation through various methods in the future.

Meanwhile, the KCSC, along with the Seoul Metropolitan Government and major portal sites such as Naver and Kakao, has simultaneously started linking to the KCSC's 'Deepfake Sexual Crime Video Reporting' page.
