First Lady Kim Geon-hee Volunteers at Seoul Station Goshiwon Village..."This Time Is So Precious"

It was confirmed belatedly that First Lady Kim Geon-hee, wife of President Yoon Suk-yeol, visited the Seoul Station jjokbangchon last week to volunteer.

According to the volunteer group Happy Sharing Volunteer Society, on the afternoon of the 23rd, Mrs. Kim visited the Seoul Station jjokbangchon with the volunteer society and participated in activities such as trash cleanup, jjokbang cleaning, and wallpapering.

Mrs. Kim said, "This time spent with neighbors in need is very precious," and was reported to have said, "I will consider ways to continuously practice even small acts of help."

Mrs. Kim reportedly volunteered for about four hours that day. She picked up trash in the alleyways and helped with indoor cleaning and wallpapering of the jjokbang rooms.

Amid the recent resurgence of COVID-19, Mrs. Kim promised to support the volunteer society with related equipment and supplies for cleanliness and quarantine in the jjokbangchon and to continue ongoing quarantine efforts together.

According to the volunteer society, one resident said, "I was moved by the First Lady personally coming to clean and wallpaper." Another volunteer said, "Seeing Mrs. Kim inspired us to work even harder in our volunteer efforts."
