Will Doodles by 300 People Become an Upcycling Festival Poster?... Yeongdeok-gun 'Upcycling Art Festa' Yeongdeok County 'Upcycling Art Festa' Singlebunggle Poster Contest.

This event, themed around 'upcycling' (the act of creating new added value from discarded items, going beyond simple recycling), has been organized by the Yeongdeok Culture and Tourism Foundation for three consecutive years.

The 2024 Yeongdeok Upcycling Art Festa, which will take place over nine days from October 26 to November 3 along the Deokgokcheon area in Yeongdeok-eup, Yeongdeok County, will host the 'Smiling Poster Contest' as one of its programs.

The 'Smiling Poster Contest' is an event where Yeongdeok residents directly participate in making posters. Participants can receive posters at the Yeongdeok Community Culture Center and Yeju Culture and Arts Center from September 2 to 13, draw fun expressions in a doodle format, and submit them.

A total of 300 participants, on a first-come, first-served basis, will complete these posters, which will then be displayed throughout Yeongdeok County by the Yeongdeok Culture and Tourism Foundation. Visitors can vote for their favorite posters via QR codes on each poster, and three posters will be selected for popularity awards. Additionally, 10 voters will be chosen to receive local gift certificates worth 10,000 won each.

The selected popular works will be featured in various promotional materials at the festival site.

First launched in 2022, the Yeongdeok Upcycling Art Festa is a community participation festival where most of the exhibited works are handmade by Yeongdeok residents themselves.

This year, about 500 residents from around 20 local organizations, groups, villages, and schools have created upcycling works, which will be unveiled on the day of the festival.

In addition, during the same period as the 2024 Upcycling Art Festa, the Yeongdeok Community Culture Week 'Udada Festival' will be held, featuring performances by around 50 local organizations, schools, and cultural clubs, as well as about 30 clubs from other regions.
