The Meteorological Administration warned that as strong easterly winds flow in, some mountainous areas could experience maximum instantaneous wind speeds of 20 to 25 m/s or more until the early morning of the day after tomorrow (the 30th), urging caution in facility management and safety accidents.
Since early morning today, heavy rain warnings have been issued for the mountainous areas, northern mid-mountain regions, and western parts of Jeju Island, with the warning levels fluctuating between advisories, warnings, and cancellations, resulting in continuous rainfall.

Strong winds also blew over the sea, prompting high wave warnings in various locations. As of 6 p.m., high wave warnings were in effect for all seas around Jeju Island and the western offshore waters of the west coast. Waves in the waters in front of Jeju Island and the southern offshore waters of Jeju Island were very high, ranging from 3.0 to 5.0 meters, while other seas had waves between 1.5 and 3.0 meters. The maximum wave heights at major points were 7.2 meters at Seogwipo, 4.7 meters at Marado, 4.2 meters at Chujado, and 4.7 meters at Sinsan.
Accordingly, the Songrim Blue Ocean ferry departing from Jeju Port and passing through Chujado to Wando, and the Santa Monica ferry passing through Chujado to Jindo, were canceled. Additionally, five passenger ferries operating between Moseulpo Port in Daejeong-eup, Seogwipo City, and Gapa Island and Marado were also suspended.
Very strong easterly winds will continue to flow into all seas around Jeju Island and the western offshore waters of the southern sea until the early morning of the day after tomorrow, causing waves to rise further. Gusts and thunder and lightning are expected, so ships navigating or fishing are urged to exercise special caution.
