"Could Have Been a Disaster if Children or Elderly Had Boarded"
A terrifying accident occurred in an apartment in Vietnam where an elevator suddenly started moving without the doors closing.
On the 28th (local time), Vietnamese media docnhanh reported on an elevator accident that happened at around 7:31 a.m. on the 26th at the HH2C apartment located in Hanoi. CCTV footage inside the elevator shows a man stepping into the elevator, which already had about nine people inside. Then, the elevator suddenly started moving upwards without the doors being properly closed. The man trying to board quickly stepped back and was not injured, but it was a situation that could have led to a serious accident. A man holding the elevator door during the sudden departure also nearly got his hand caught. Residents watching the scene appeared flustered, closely inspecting the elevator or looking around anxiously.
The man who tried to board the elevator said, "I went down to the first floor and remembered something I left at home, so I tried to take the elevator again and had the accident." He added, "I reflexively pulled my leg back and fell backward. I narrowly escaped death." He continued, "At the time, I just thought it was a dangerous moment, but after watching the video, I was deeply shocked," and pointed out, "If children or elderly people had been on board, a terrible incident would have occurred."
Residents expressed anxiety, saying that this elevator frequently had various problems such as closing too quickly or not closing completely. On the same day, another elevator in the building also broke down, trapping about ten children inside. Local netizens reacted with comments like, "The people inside the elevator must have been scared," "It's fortunate that no accident happened," "The elevator needs to be replaced before a major accident occurs," and "How could it start moving when the door wasn't closed?"
Meanwhile, as the video of the accident spread, authorities have gone to the site to investigate the exact circumstances of the accident.
