A 1st Grader Sexually Harassed by a 5th Grader... "Teacher, Please Help Me" in the Statement

Victimized Female Student's Father: "Hands and Feet Trembling, Couldn't Sleep at All"

A first-grade elementary school girl who was sexually harassed by a fifth-grade elementary school boy reportedly wrote in her statement that she needed help.

On the 27th, JTBC's 'Case Manager' introduced a report from Mr. A, the father of the female victim of the sexual harassment incident. Mr. A explained on the broadcast about the relationship between the perpetrator and his daughter, saying, "They used to have everyday conversations, and I thought their relationship was good," and "Then one day, I found a message from the boy on my daughter's phone asking for 'naked photos.'"

After discovering the message, Mr. A explained the incident to the Taekwondo academy where the perpetrator and his daughter both attended, and reportedly received an apology from the boy’s parents. He also reported the boy to the School Violence Countermeasures Committee on the 16th, after the school vacation ended.

He said that his daughter, who met with the school violence officer, wrote in her statement, "I don’t really know if the oppa (perpetrator) messages were bad words. Oppa asked me to date him, but I didn’t want to. Oppa said he would send a photo of his genitals, and I said no, but oppa sent the photo and then deleted it. I didn’t look at it and really hated it." She also requested in the 'needed help' section, "Teacher, please help me."

Mr. A expressed, "My hands and feet were trembling, and I couldn’t sleep at all," adding, "My wife and I looked at the messages for two hours, and my wife cried beside me. This cannot be dismissed as a joke or curiosity, and I hope proper punishment is given so that such acts do not happen again." He also said, "My daughter attends the same school and uses the same floor as the boy, and I am anxious about running into him if he returns to school."

The incident reportedly occurred in mid-last month. At a gathering hosted by the Taekwondo academy, the perpetrator boy, C, who met the victim girl, B, allegedly demanded naked photos from B via KakaoTalk messages. C also reportedly sent photos of his own private parts to B and then deleted them, and asked about sexual relations.

After the incident became known, the school imposed a one-week suspension on C. C’s side reportedly sent a letter to Mr. A saying, "We are sorry. Even if friends say such things, we thought it was okay and sent the messages out of mere curiosity and as a joke. Please forgive us just this once."
