4,287 Summer Complaints Over 3 Years
Anti-Corruption Commission Requests Proactive Safety Inspections
The Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission (ACRC) reported that complaints related to the safety and inspection of facilities in preparation for typhoons have been concentrated during the summer season and requested measures to address this issue.
On the 28th, the ACRC disclosed statistics on typhoon safety complaints received through its complaint analysis system over the past three years since August 2021.
A total of 7,489 complaints were recorded during this period. Among them, 4,287 complaints were received in August and September, the summer months, accounting for 57.2% of the total.
Individual cases included complaints about conducting inspections of facilities in preparation for typhoons, maintenance of drainage facilities, and reinforcement of retaining walls to prevent landslides. There were also complaints related to damage recovery, requesting repairs of facilities damaged by typhoons.
In response, the ACRC issued a complaint advisory and urged relevant agencies to proactively conduct safety inspections in preparation for typhoons. It also requested the development of measures to minimize recurring typhoon damage and improvements in compensation for damages.
