Hyundai Card Launches PLCC Combined with Korean Air, Genesis, and SSG.com

Adjustable Accumulation Rate by Brand, 10% Each

Hyundai Card announced on the 28th that it will launch the '3 Body-A Hyundai Card,' which combines the benefits of its private label credit card (PLCC) partners Korean Air, Genesis, and SSG.com into one card.

The 3 Body-A Hyundai Card is designed to allow users to receive benefits from the three brands in desired proportions with a single credit card. With every payment, users can simultaneously accumulate mileage (Korean Air), Blue Members points (Genesis), and SSG Money (SSG.com), and the accumulation rate for each brand can be adjusted by the user in 10% increments.

Hyundai Card stated that it planned this product after analyzing payment data from the existing Korean Air, Genesis, and SSG.com PLCCs. The analysis showed that all three PLCCs are mainly used by members in their 30s, 40s, and 50s who have high income levels, enjoy leisure activities, and prefer premium products and services. Accordingly, Hyundai Card explained that to create business synergy, it has started collaboration beyond existing marketing partnerships to include product launch cooperation.

Going forward, Hyundai Card plans to expand its product lineup with PLCC partners who wish to collaborate. Since the product name is derived from the astronomical term "Three-Body Problem," which describes the interaction among three planets, new product names are also expected to be designated as '2 Body' or '3 Body-B,' among others.

Since launching its first PLCC product in 2015, Hyundai Card has formed PLCC partnerships with 19 domestic and international companies to date. Since 2020, it has built data alliances with partners and has conducted joint marketing based on over 2,000 data sets.

A Hyundai Card representative said, "The 3 Body-A Hyundai Card is a PLCC product that combines Hyundai Card’s creativity with collaboration among partners through data alliances," adding, "We plan to provide new value through the combination of various PLCCs in the future."
