Nowon-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Oh Seung-rok) announced that it will provide a free vehicle safety inspection service in celebration of Chuseok to ensure residents have a safe journey home.

The district has been offering free vehicle maintenance services in collaboration with local repair shops during periods requiring long-distance travel, such as the Chuseok holiday. With 294 vehicles inspected in 2022 and 356 in 2023, over 300 vehicles have participated annually, reflecting strong support from residents.

This year, a free safety inspection will again be conducted ahead of the long-distance Chuseok travel period. The goal is to raise awareness of the importance of vehicle maintenance and to foster a safe automotive traffic culture.

The inspections will be carried out by professional mechanics volunteering their skills. About 40 companies affiliated with the Kapos (Seoul Automobile Specialized Repair Business Association) Nowon-gu branch (Branch Chief Lee Kyung-jae) will participate, targeting passenger cars and small vans.

Inspection items include ▲refilling washer fluid, coolant, and engine oil ▲checking the condition of tires and brake pads ▲inspecting the air conditioner, various belts, wipers, and lighting devices.

Meanwhile, during the Chuseok holiday, the district will provide free access to 27 public parking lots operated by the district and 526 parking spaces at 15 schools within the district, including Shingye Elementary, Gongneung Middle, Junggye Middle, and Nowon High School, where opening agreements have been completed, to facilitate residents' convenience.
