On the 27th, the Cyber Investigation Unit 1 of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency announced that it would send one resident doctor who resigned and disclosed the real names and other personal information of returning residents on medical communities and social networking services (SNS) to the prosecution on charges of violating the Information and Communications Network Act (defamation).
Earlier, the police conducted a search and seizure of the online community where the posts were made, identified the suspect, and continued the investigation based on victim reports and an investigation request from the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
They are accused of posting the real names of residents who worked at university hospitals nationwide, along with their medical departments and student numbers, on an anonymous medical community from June 28 to July 4, and mocking them by writing phrases such as "We must remember the collaborators."
The police stated, "We plan to strictly investigate similar online activities in the future."
