A tragic story has emerged about a woman who poured astronomical amounts of money into plastic surgery for her husband, only to end up divorced due to her addiction to cosmetic procedures.

On the 26th (local time), American entertainment media outlets such as People and Page Six reported that Joslyn Wildenstein (82) posted photos on her official Instagram account the day before. Joslyn is the ex-wife of Alec Wildenstein, a billionaire art dealer who was once a famous figure in New York's social scene.

The photos Joslyn posted show her appearance from decades ago. Her daughter, Diane Wildenstein, is with her in the picture. Along with the photo, Joslyn shared a message saying, "Happy birthday to my beautiful daughter Diane Wildenstein."

Regarding the photo, People explained, "The well-known New York socialite famous for undergoing multiple plastic surgeries shared a photo from the past," adding, "You can see how much Joslyn has changed over time." Joslyn was born in Switzerland and reportedly made a name for herself in the social scene while married to Alec, who was originally from France, in the United States.

However, their harmonious marriage did not last long. Joslyn discovered her husband's infidelity. Afterwards, to win back Alec's heart and to have a 'cat-like' face that Alec liked, she spent a fortune on plastic surgery. She also kept cats and often wore cat-like clothing, earning her the nickname "Catwoman."

However, Alec began to avoid his wife after seeing her transformed, cat-like face, and eventually, the two divorced. In the 1997 divorce lawsuit, Joslyn claimed, "I kept having plastic surgery because my husband disliked being with an old woman," while Alec's side countered, "Joslyn is crazy, thinks she can remodel her face like furniture, and does not listen to me."

The two continued to exchange accusations until they finally agreed to divorce in 1999, two years after the lawsuit began. At that time, Alec agreed to pay Joslyn $2.5 billion (approximately 3.3265 trillion KRW) in alimony and an additional $100 million (approximately 133 billion KRW) annually for the next 13 years. However, the court handling the divorce case ordered Joslyn not to spend the settlement money on plastic surgery. Meanwhile, Alec passed away in 2008 from prostate cancer. Afterward, Joslyn claimed bankruptcy, stating that Alec's family had cut off her funds.
