Kim Jongseo Band and Jambinai Featured in 'Heehee樂ROCK Concert'
Jongno-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Jeong Munheon) will hold the third “Come to Daehak-ro! Car-Free Street” event of the year on the 31st.
Under the theme “I Write the Liberation Diary in Jongno,” the event will take place from 1:00 PM to 7:30 PM along approximately 350 meters of Daehak-ro Avenue, from Exit 1 of Hyehwa Station to the entrance of Seoul National University Hospital. Vehicle restrictions will be enforced from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
The main programs include the “Daehak-ro Water Park” and the “Heehee樂ROCK Concert.” The Daehak-ro Water Park, which will cool down the scorching heat, will be held in front of Exit 1 of Hyehwa Station from 1:30 PM to 5:30 PM. It features a large water slide, exciting water gun battles accompanied by lively music, and a street play “Water Fight PART1: The Too-Long War” by the theater troupe Piltong.
The highlight of the event, the “Heehee樂ROCK Concert,” will be held on the central stage from 5:30 PM, featuring the Kim Jong-seo Band, Jambinai, and Blue Paprika. Kim Jong-seo, a first-generation heavy metal musician who led the popularization of rock in Korea; Jambinai, a post-rock band based on traditional Korean music; and Blue Paprika, loved for their relatable lyrics and warm melodies, will perform.
Jongno-gu has also prepared various side events. At the “Artist Walk,” visitors can experience leather workshops, pottery therapy, soap workshops, and face painting. The “Dessert Table,” featuring participation from nearby dessert shops and cafes, and the “Art Market,” which promotes Daehak-ro performances and offers ticket giveaways, are also noteworthy.

Meanwhile, on August 31 and September 1, Jongno-gu will operate the social economy enterprise market “Our Neighborhood, Value Store!” at Marronnier Park in Daehak-ro. Twelve local social economy enterprises will participate, promoting their products and offering experiences such as keyring making, board games, and perfume making.
Mayor Jeong Munheon said, “We have carefully planned the ‘Summer Special Cultural Festival’ presented at the end of August in Daehak-ro, the center of Korean performing arts,” and added, “We hope everyone creates unforgettable memories in Daehak-ro, filled with youthful energy and rock spirit.”
