Sharing Major Activities in Donggyeongju
Wolsong Nuclear Power Headquarters of Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP) held the ‘2024 4th Wolsong Headquarters Nuclear Communication Committee Meeting’.
Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Wolsong Nuclear Power Headquarters held the "2024 4th Wolsong Headquarters Nuclear Power Communication Committee."
This meeting provided an opportunity to share and communicate about the main activities for regional coexistence and cooperation carried out by Wolsong Headquarters during July and August.
The main agenda items discussed included: ▲ Sponsorship of the Yangnam Saemaeul Women’s Association Happiness Bazaar ▲ Support for the 80-year traditional Gampo Port Pungeoje Festival ▲ Hosting of the Wolsong Headquarters first-half communication program ▲ Emergency support for cooling expenses at 101 locations in response to the heatwave ▲ Free coffee and snacks at Gwanseong, Najung, and Bonggil beaches ▲ Selection as the preferred bidder for the construction of two new nuclear power plants in the Czech Republic.
In particular, the committee members celebrated together the selection as the preferred bidder for the new nuclear power plant project in the Czech Republic last July and expressed their hopes for the successful entry of Korea’s nuclear power industry into the European market.
Additionally, at this 4th Nuclear Communication Committee meeting, two newly appointed internal members (Heo Daeyoung, Head of External Cooperation; Kim Jongsun, Head of Plant 1) and four external members (Resident representatives Lim Miryeon, Vice President of Gampo-eup Development Council; Ha Maenghee, Chairman of Munmu-daewang-myeon Residents’ Autonomy Committee; civic group representatives Jung Heegeun, Head of Gyeongju Self-Sufficiency Center; Choi Miyeong, Gyeongju Youth Guidance Committee) pledged to actively work for the mutual development and coexistence of Wolsong Headquarters and the local community.
Kim Hansung, Head of Wolsong Headquarters, said, “So far, we have engaged in various communication activities, and we will continue to exchange diverse opinions and carry out sincere communication efforts for the development of the local community.”
The Wolsong Nuclear Communication Committee has been holding six regular meetings annually since its inception in 2013, sharing key updates about Wolsong Headquarters, building consensus with regional committee members, and promoting mutual growth with the local community.
