16 Complexes Installed in the Underground Parking Lot
Pyeongtaek City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 26th that it will conduct on-site inspections starting from the 26th in collaboration with Pyeongtaek and Songtan Fire Stations and the Korea Electrical Safety Corporation to prevent the recent series of electric vehicle fires.

The inspection targets 16 apartment complexes located in areas where electric vehicle charging facilities are densely installed underground, and the inspections will be conducted until the 2nd of next month.
The inspection team will check ▲the management status of electric vehicle charging facilities ▲the operation of sprinklers, fire extinguishing, alarm, and evacuation equipment ▲the maintenance status and damage of charging cables, and will also inspect the appropriateness of the installation locations. Facilities found to be vulnerable to safety issues will be subject to guidance and corrective measures.
Jung Jang-seon, Mayor of Pyeongtaek, said, "The importance of managing electric vehicle charging facilities has increased due to the consecutive fires. We will strive to reduce the causes of fire through joint inspections and to alleviate citizens' concerns."
