A group that assaulted a child who refused to date them and even forced the victim into prostitution has been sentenced to prison.

On the 26th, the 1st Criminal Division of Cheonan Branch, Daejeon District Court (Presiding Judge Jeon Kyungho) sentenced Mr. A (20) to five years in prison and Mr. B (20) to three years and six months in prison, both of whom were indicted and detained on charges including violation of the Act on the Protection of Children and Juveniles from Sexual Abuse (coercive acts, etc.). The court also ordered them to complete a sexual violence treatment program and imposed a seven-year employment restriction at institutions related to children, juveniles, and persons with disabilities.

For Ms. C (16) and another accomplice who were also indicted, the court sentenced them to two years and six months (maximum) and two years (minimum), and three years (maximum) and two years and six months (minimum) in prison, respectively.

Last August, these individuals were brought to trial on charges of collectively assaulting the victim (who was 12 at the time) for refusing to date Mr. A, and then recruiting sex buyers through a chat application and forcing the victim into prostitution.

The court stated, "No matter how young the offenders are, this is an absolutely unforgivable crime," and explained that "a heavy sentence is inevitable."
