By investor type, individuals and institutions were net buyers of 97.4 billion KRW and 400.2 billion KRW, respectively. On the other hand, foreigners were net sellers of 468.9 billion KRW.
By industry, the electric and gas sector jumped 3.83%. In addition, transportation and warehousing, securities, and distribution sectors rose more than 1%. Conversely, medical precision fell 2.16%. Other sectors such as transportation equipment and electrical and electronics closed down more than 1%.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, Samsung Electronics closed at 76,100 KRW, down 1,600 KRW (2.06%) from the previous trading day. SK Hynix fell 3.18%. Hyundai Motor and Kia also dropped more than 1%. On the other hand, LG Energy Solution surged 5.29%. NAVER rose 3.52%. In addition, Celltrion, Samsung C&T, and KB Financial increased more than 1%.
On this day in the KOSPI, three stocks including Hanwha Galleria AU hit the upper limit, with 378 stocks rising and 509 stocks falling without hitting the lower limit. Fifty stocks were unchanged.
The KOSDAQ closed at 766.79, down 6.47 points (0.84%) from the previous trading day.
By investor type, individuals were net buyers of 157.2 billion KRW. Meanwhile, foreigners and institutions were net sellers of 103.0 billion KRW and 46.6 billion KRW, respectively.
By industry, pharmaceuticals and other manufacturing recorded slight gains. Conversely, non-metallic minerals fell 2.03%. In addition, distribution, chemicals, and general electrical and electronics declined more than 1%.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, EcoPro BM closed at 173,800 KRW, down 200 KRW (0.11%) from the previous trading day. Silicon Two plunged 6.79%. On the other hand, Ligachem Bio rose 4.59%. In addition, Classys and Rainbow Robotics closed up more than 1%.
In the KOSDAQ, two stocks including Encell hit the upper limit, with 411 stocks rising. Meanwhile, 1,174 stocks fell without hitting the lower limit, and 83 stocks closed unchanged.
