A Total of 78 Items Submitted, Worth Approximately 11.6 Billion KRW
Art auction house Seoul Auction announced on the 26th that it will auction a total of 78 artworks worth approximately 11.6 billion KRW (based on the low estimate) including Yayoi Kusama's 'Pumpkin' at the Seoul Auction Gangnam Center in Sinsa-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul on the 10th of next month.
Considering that the preview exhibition will be held during the global art fairs Frieze and KIAF, many works by modern art masters such as Yayoi Kusama, Kim Whanki, Yoo Youngkuk, and Park Seo-bo, as well as popular artists who are receiving much attention in the domestic and international art scenes such as Lee Bae, Yoon Hyongkeun, Alex Katz, Tomokazu Matsuyama, Yang Hye-gyeu, and Lee Soo-kyung, were unveiled.
Among Kusama's works, three original pumpkin canvases will find new owners. The yellow work composed of the artist's most iconic motifs of pumpkins and nets is estimated at 2.8 billion KRW, and the red work is estimated at 1.1 billion KRW.
Alex Katz's 'Cymbidium Yellow on Red,' featuring an impressive image of flowers filling the entire canvas, is expected to be auctioned at 700 million to 1 billion KRW.
Yoo Youngkuk's 'Work,' a large 100-ho piece expressing the vitality of nature through the arrangement of color fields, is estimated at 800 million to 1.2 billion KRW; Park Seo-bo's 'Myobeop No.080420,' harmonizing deep autumn leaf colors and delicate textures, is estimated at 650 million to 900 million KRW; and Kim Whanki's cross composition work '13-VII-69 #86,' created with contrasts of blue and red, is estimated at 300 million to 450 million KRW, each set to find new owners.
Lee Bae's 'Brushstroke-214,' which shows the infinity of charcoal, is estimated at 120 million to 180 million KRW, and 'Issu du Feu' A11 (From Fire) will be auctioned at 65 million to 100 million KRW.

Among Lee Soo-kyung's 'Translated Ceramics' series, which pieces together broken ceramic fragments, the baby elephant-shaped work is estimated at 65 million to 100 million KRW, and Yang Hye-gyeu's installation piece 'Sonic Rope ? Silver Hexagon Regular' is exhibited at 30 million to 50 million KRW, both available at this auction.
Additionally, a Louis Vuitton trunk embroidered with Kusama Yayoi's pumpkin motif and a Louis Vuitton Artycapucines handbag inspired by Park Seo-bo's 'Myobeop' will also be showcased in this auction.

The preview exhibition will be held at the Seoul Auction Gangnam Center until the day of the auction and is free to attend.
