Aerospace Agency Announces New R&D Project Calls for L4 Exploration and Reusable Launch Vehicles

The Korea Aerospace Agency (Director Yoon Young-bin) announced on the 26th that it will open a public call for new project exploratory research (R&D) planning tasks totaling 8 billion KRW in 2024.


In the space exploration field, preliminary studies for solar observation L4 exploration and lunar lander payload concept research will be announced. In the satellite field, ultra-high-resolution satellite exploratory research and mission assurance procedure planning research will be announced. In the space transportation field, reusable launch vehicle planning research and the concept study for the second space center will be announced. In the aviation innovation field, the establishment of an aviation technology roadmap and future air mobility planning research will be announced. Additionally, aerospace policy research, space situational awareness system concept design, space convergence business planning, and KASA-type SBIR open calls will also be announced.


Park Hwon, Head of the Mission Support Division at the Korea Aerospace Agency, stated, “This exploratory research is an important preliminary study that includes feasibility reviews for future aerospace projects. Since participation opportunities are open to all domestic and international researchers, we look forward to active participation.”


The Korea Aerospace Agency plans to hold a project briefing session for this public call on the 4th of next month at the main auditorium of the Korea Research Foundation in Daejeon.
