Two Types of Suicide Drones... 'Tank Explosion Scene' Revealed
Kim Jong Un "Deploy Units ASAP... Introduce AI Technology"
North Korea has unveiled its first "suicide-type unmanned attack drone." Kim Jong Un, Chairman of the State Affairs Commission, who personally supervised the performance tests on site, ordered rapid deployment into actual combat, stating, "Not only attack drones but also underwater strategic weapon systems such as nuclear torpedoes must be continuously developed."

According to the Korean Central News Agency on the 26th, Kim Jong Un visited the Defense Science Institute's Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Research Institute on the 24th and provided on-site guidance for performance tests of various unmanned aerial vehicles. The agency explained, "Unmanned aerial vehicles used within different strike ranges have the mission to attack arbitrary enemy targets on land and sea," adding, "They flew along designated different routes, accurately identifying and striking the specified targets to destruction."
North Korea revealed two types of white-colored unmanned aerial vehicles. They were processed with crude mosaics so that only their shapes could be recognized. Scenes were also shown of them flying toward and striking simulated targets presumed to be K-2 tanks, causing explosions. This is the first time North Korea has unveiled a "suicide-type unmanned drone." Last year, on the 70th anniversary of Victory Day, a large-scale weapons exhibition was held, showcasing new high-performance unmanned aerial vehicles, but the suicide function was not mentioned. Considering the recent effectiveness of "suicide drones" in the Russia-Ukraine war, it is interpreted that North Korea intends to develop and promote such weapon systems.

Chairman Kim stated, "In addition to underwater strategic weapon systems such as 'nuclear torpedoes,' various 'suicide attack-type underwater unmanned vessels' must be continuously developed, and the development of unmanned aerial vehicles should actively move toward incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) technology," suggesting the possibility of introducing advanced technology.
