Discussion on Current Issues for Balanced Development in the Western Region
Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 25th that it held a party-government council meeting with the Hwaseong Gap District Committee of the Democratic Party of Korea on the 23rd at the city hall situation room to promote local issues.

At the meeting attended by Assemblywoman Song Ok-ju (Chairperson of Hwaseong Gap District Committee), Hwaseong Mayor Jeong Myeong-geun, city council members, and related officials, they discussed issues related to sports, roads, transportation, and public safety, including the establishment of a dedicated badminton court in the western region of Hwaseong, prevention of road damage, and early response measures.
During the meeting, it was decided to review the promotion of establishing a dedicated badminton court in the western region through the ongoing survey of sports facilities and the establishment of supply standards. Regarding the construction of a dedicated drone soccer stadium, they agreed to proceed with establishing a stadium that meets official game specifications, aiming for completion next year to provide students with a more systematic practice environment.
The meeting also decided to complete the establishment of a Pavement Management System (PMS) by next year to prevent and respond early to road damage in Hwaseong. Additionally, to improve public transportation accessibility in the southwestern part of Hwaseong, they plan to secure additional budget for the public taxi (Happy Taxi) project and improve the usage environment.
For citizen safety, the council decided to introduce 100 intelligent CCTVs starting next year, prioritizing installation in crime-vulnerable areas in the western region.
Other topics discussed at the council included ▲ the creation of tennis courts in Oeum Park ▲ installation of yellow crosswalks and protective fences in child protection zones ▲ the creation of a women’s safety street project in Balan Manse Market ▲ and plans for utilizing the old 119 Safety Center site in Namyang-eup.
Mayor Jeong said, "Balanced development across all regions, including the western area, will lead to a successful future for Hwaseong City," adding, "We will continue to discuss local issues with the district committee and reflect the characteristics of each region to ensure Hwaseong becomes a successful city that satisfies all citizens."
