During the meeting, the issue of unsettled damages for e-commerce companies that do not concurrently operate electronic payment gateway (PG) services, such as Interpark Commerce, was also discussed. The government plans to promptly assess the damage status centered on the Fair Trade Commission and review response directions.
Meanwhile, to prevent recurrence of the incident, the government is preparing amendments to the 'Large-scale Distribution Business Act' and the 'Electronic Financial Transactions Act.' The meeting discussed key legislative tasks such as the scope of law application, shortening settlement cycles, and separate management of sales proceeds. Based on the discussions, the government plans to soon prepare and announce the main points of the institutional improvement plan.
