On the 25th, Jeollanam-do announced that it held a one-day camp for over 200 participants, including high school students and their advisors from 23 schools selected for the 2024 'Nobel Camp' and 'Community Research Project.'
The Nobel Camp and Community Research Project are initiatives that support high school students in identifying research topics in various scientific fields and local community issues, encouraging them to engage in research activities to develop problem-solving skills and self-directed research abilities.
At the one-day camp held at the Jeonnam Women and Family Foundation, Jeollanam-do Governor Kim Young-rok encouraged the participating youth for their strong research enthusiasm and spirit of challenge, and awarded the 'Jeonnam Talent Certificate.'
Governor Kim Young-rok stated, "In response to rapid social changes such as artificial intelligence (AI), we are conducting the Nobel Camp and Community Research Project to help youth adapt flexibly and grow by fostering creativity and problem-solving skills. Jeollanam-do will continue to do its best to nurture local talent by operating various educational programs for the growth and development of youth."
Following this, a special lecture titled "Creative Convergent Imagination and Questioning Humans in the AI Era" was delivered by Professor Kim Chun-sik of Dongshin University. Additionally, report writing consulting was provided by university professors from Mokpo National University, Suncheon National University, and experts from various fields, followed by active discussions among participants regarding future research plans.
