A man in his 50s of Chinese nationality was arrested on suspicion of killing a fellow Chinese compatriot with a weapon at a restaurant.
According to the Guro Police Station in Seoul on the 25th, a man in his 50s of Chinese nationality, identified as Mr. A, is suspected of stabbing and killing a man in his 50s of the same nationality, Mr. B, at a restaurant in Garibong-dong, Guro-gu, Seoul, at around 9:50 p.m. the previous day.
The police explained that both Mr. A and Mr. B had visited the restaurant as customers.
Mr. A fled immediately after the killing but was urgently arrested on suspicion of murder at around 12:30 a.m. on the same day at a lodging facility in Geumcheon-gu, approximately 2 hours and 40 minutes after the incident. Investigations revealed that Mr. A was an illegal immigrant, and he is also expected to face charges for violating the Immigration Control Act.
The police plan to apply for an arrest warrant after investigating the motive, circumstances, and whether the crime was premeditated.
