300 Key Figures and Business Leaders from Korea and the US Attend
On the 23rd (local time), the Korea International Trade Association announced on the 25th that it held the 'Korea-US Southeast Economic Council General Assembly' in Atlanta, USA, jointly with the Consulate General in Atlanta, the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) Atlanta Trade Center, and the governments of six southeastern US states.

This event was organized to support companies operating locally. About 300 key figures and businesspeople from both countries attended, including Lee In-ho, Vice Chairman of the Korea International Trade Association, Seo Sang-pyo, Consul General in Atlanta, Allen McNair, Secretary of Commerce of Alabama, Stuart McHolter, Commissioner of Economic Community Development of Tennessee, and Harry Leisch, Secretary of Commerce of South Carolina. The six southeastern US states are Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Florida. The event was held from 1986 to 2008 and resumed this year after a 16-year hiatus. The meeting featured presentations and discussions on the trends of Korean companies entering the US Southeast market, including renewable energy and electric vehicles, as well as ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) and CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility).
Vice Chairman Lee In-ho said, "Last year, over 600 of our companies invested approximately $27.7 billion in the United States, making the US our country's top investment destination," adding, "We will continue to expand cooperation with state governments and related organizations."
