Kia Sorento, No.1 in Car Sales from January to July... Will It Become the First Best-Selling Car?

The Kia Sorento has been revealed to have recorded the highest sales volume among the five domestic automakers' models from January to July.

According to the industry on the 25th, a total of 57,184 units were sold domestically from January to July this year. This is the highest number among models released in Korea. This is interpreted as a result of increasing preference for recreational vehicles (RVs) and the recent electric vehicle situation expanding demand for hybrid cars.

Following the Sorento were the Kia Carnival (51,918 units), Kia Sportage (45,534 units), Hyundai Santa Fe (45,013 units), and Hyundai Porter (43,738 units), forming the leading group. If this trend continues, the Sorento is expected to become the best-selling car of the year.

This is the first time since the 2000s that a Kia vehicle model is likely to become the best-selling car. Since 2000 until last year, models that became best-sellers were mostly Hyundai models such as Avante, Sonata, Porter, and Grandeur.
