On the 24th, local media including VN Express reported that around 4:20 PM on the 20th, a Korean tourist identified as A was riding a motorcycle from Linh Ung Pagoda in Da Nang towards the Son Tra Peninsula when she lost balance on a curve and fell, getting run over by a 45-seat bus traveling in the opposite direction.
At the time of the accident, A lost her balance and slipped on the curved road, causing part of her body to be trapped under the bus. The bus was slowing down due to the sharp curve on the road, and the driver immediately stopped the bus upon noticing A had fallen, preventing a major collision.
Local fire authorities who responded to the report used hydraulic equipment to rescue A within 10 minutes. A, who sustained multiple injuries, was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Fortunately, her life is not in danger.
Meanwhile, the route towards Son Tra Peninsula is known for its many sharp curves and steep slopes. Due to frequent accidents, Da Nang city designated certain sections as motorcycle prohibited zones starting from October 2019. The location where A’s accident occurred is about 5 km from Son Tra Peninsula and is a section where motorcycle riding is permitted.
