Possibility of Signing TIPF Agreement
Expanding Comprehensive Cooperation Beyond Nuclear Power
It has been reported that the heads of Samsung, SK, and LG groups will accompany President Yoon Suk-yeol as an economic delegation during his visit to the Czech Republic next month.
According to political and business circles on the 24th, SK Group Chairman Choi Tae-won, who is also the chairman of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, will accompany the visit to the Czech Republic. Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong and LG Group Chairman Koo Kwang-mo are also said to be included in the delegation. From Hyundai Motor Group, President Jang Jae-hoon is reported to accompany the delegation in place of Chairman Chung Eui-sun.
In addition to the four major groups, many officials from Czech nuclear power-related companies, who were selected as the preferred negotiators for the new nuclear power plant construction project in the Czech Republic as part of 'Team Korea' in July, are expected to depart as members of the delegation.
Earlier, on the 21st, the Presidential Office held a meeting of the 'Task Force (TF) for Deepening Korea-Czech Cooperation' to review preparations related to the visit to the Czech Republic. The Presidential Office decided to examine ways to promote mutually beneficial cooperation across all fields, including nuclear power cooperation between the two countries, finance, industry, energy, science and technology, transportation infrastructure, and education.
Through President Yoon's visit to the Czech Republic, the two countries are expected to sign the 'Trade and Investment Promotion Framework' (TIPF) agreement.
