Royal Banquet 'Yayeon' Recreated at Changgyeonggung Palace

One Parent Directly Participates in the Performance

The Cultural Heritage Administration's Palace and Royal Tombs Headquarters and the National Heritage Promotion Agency will hold a night banquet (Yayeon) at Munjeongjeon Hall in Changgyeonggung Palace from the 12th to the 18th of next month to celebrate the Chuseok holiday. Yayeon was a royal court event prepared and hosted by the crown prince to express respect and filial piety toward his father, the king.

This time, a performance reenacting part of the banquet held in the royal court will be presented. One parent can participate directly in the performance. They will take on the role of a high-ranking official invited to the Yayeon by the king or his wife, the Jeonggyeongbuin. Wearing traditional costumes, participants can enjoy royal court refreshments and take commemorative photos with their family.


Tickets will be available starting at 2 PM on the 26th through Ticketlink. Those aged 65 and older, persons with disabilities, and national merit recipients can also make reservations by phone.
