The 59th National Skills Competition... '75 Students from Jeonbuk' Participate

Held from 24th to 30th at 7 stadiums including Geumo Technical High School

Vocational high school students in Jeonbuk Province are taking on challenges for the future at the 'National Skills Competition,' a festival for skilled technicians.

According to the Jeonbuk Provincial Office of Education (Superintendent Seo Geoseok) on the 23rd, 75 students from 13 vocational high schools in the province will participate in the '59th National Skills Competition,' held for seven days from the 24th to the 30th in Gyeongsangbuk-do.

The National Skills Competition aims to raise the overall skill level across regions. It is held to contribute to industrial development by fostering a nationwide culture that values skilled technicians and expanding its base.

This year, 1,755 representatives from 17 cities and provinces nationwide will participate. From Jeonbuk, 75 students selected through the Jeonbuk Skills Competition in April will compete in 26 categories, including automobile maintenance, welding, industrial drone control, CNC milling machine operation, automobile body repair, and cooking.

Winners of the competition will receive various benefits such as prize money, exemption from the practical test for industrial engineer certification, and eligibility to participate in the national selection for the International Skills Olympics.

Lee Kang, Director of Creative Talent Education, said, "I hope vocational high school students in the province will challenge themselves toward their dreams and fully demonstrate the skills they have honed. We ask for much interest and support so they can grow as skilled technicians."
