NHN Edu announced on the 23rd that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with KB Financial Group Public Welfare Foundation to collaborate on metaverse-based economic and financial education, and will begin discussions to incorporate the ‘KB Star Economic Classroom’ within Wonderverse.
Wonderverse, officially launched by NHN Edu in March, is a metaverse-based learning experience platform. It features immersive virtual worlds created with 3D graphics and maximizes educational effectiveness through storytelling-centered content. Recently, it successfully completed usability verification research, and sequential adoption is underway nationwide, starting with the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education.
This agreement was made to foster synergy between edutech and economic and financial education sectors. Starting with implementing KB Financial Group Public Welfare Foundation’s flagship program, ‘KB Star Economic Classroom,’ within Wonderverse, they will develop customized economic and financial content tailored by grade and proficiency level. In particular, they plan to focus on developing metaverse-based content that allows users in remote island and mountainous areas to access Wonderverse, visit virtual banks, and learn concepts of saving and investing.
Meanwhile, NHN Edu will focus on public education projects emphasizing artificial intelligence (AI) courseware as it begins full-scale use of Wonderverse in actual classes from the second semester this year. Wonderverse will launch a bundled product combined with NHN Edu’s school management service, IamTeacher, and will conduct promotional events to commemorate this. IamTeacher is a service that reduces teachers’ administrative tasks by more than 30%, currently used by approximately 190,000 teachers.
