Jurisdiction Over Workplaces and Workers in Jung-gu, Buk-gu, and Ulju-gun, Ulsan
Rehabilitation, Compensation, and Care Services for Over 297,000 Workers
The Korea Workers’ Compensation and Welfare Service (President Park Jonggil) held an opening ceremony for the Ulsan Jungbu Branch at the new office building in Seodong, Jung-gu, Ulsan on the 23rd, aiming to resolve customer inconveniences for employers and workers and to provide the best possible industrial accident insurance and workers’ welfare services.
Despite Ulsan being a leading industrial city in Korea with high administrative demand for industrial accident issues, only one branch office had been in operation until now.
With the opening of the Ulsan Jungbu Branch, it is expected that prompt medical care, compensation, and rehabilitation services can be provided for work-related diseases and accidents, such as the recent surge in musculoskeletal disorders, occupational cancers, and commuting accidents.
The Ulsan Jungbu Branch will serve approximately 34,000 workplaces and 297,000 workers located in Jung-gu, Buk-gu, and Ulju-gun of Ulsan, handling employment and industrial accident insurance enrollment and qualification management, medical care, compensation and rehabilitation for industrial accident victims, and worker welfare tasks such as retirement pensions and advance payments.
Through these efforts, the branch aims to faithfully fulfill its role as a happiness partner for all working people, from employment to retirement security. Three departments will be operated: the Enrollment Support Department, Rehabilitation and Compensation Department, and Management and Welfare Department.
President Park Jonggil stated, “With the opening of the Ulsan Jungbu Branch, we will be able to get closer to the workers and employers of Jung-gu, Buk-gu, and Ulju-gun, improving accessibility to industrial accident insurance and workers’ welfare services. We promise to become a model public institution that protects working lives through prompt support, contributes to happiness, and grows together with the local community.”
