An eight-year-old child in China calmly extinguishing a fire that spread to the bed has been revealed, drawing attention.
Recently, a video of an eight-year-old child putting out a fire at a home in eastern China has been circulating mainly on Chinese online platforms.
The video shows the child watching TV alone while the parents are away from home. The child, who was lying down, suddenly throws off the blanket as if feeling heat, and a 'pop' sound is heard as flames burst out. It turned out that the fire started from a hairdryer inside the blanket.

Even at a moment that could have escalated into a major accident, the child acted calmly. First, the child unplugged the hairdryer and fetched a cup of water to extinguish the flames. Then, the child safely eliminated the remaining embers by blowing on them.
After putting out the fire, the child seemed to relax and shed tears.
Netizens responded with comments such as "This is the composure of an 8-year-old," "Even as an adult, I couldn't have done that," "Little firefighter is amazing," "The sight of the child crying alone is so touching," "Watching the child blow on the embers is cute even in the middle of it all," "How scared they must have been," and "It's really fortunate that it didn't lead to an accident."
Meanwhile, hairdryers are known to be electronic devices with a high risk of fire. Especially if the air outlet or intake vents are blocked by foreign substances, heat cannot escape, increasing the risk of fire. When airflow is not smooth and heat is trapped inside the dryer, fires can easily occur, so caution is necessary.
