Environment Minister Meets Young Entrepreneurs from Green Companies

On the 23rd, Kim Wan-seop, Minister of Environment, stated, "We will fully support green industry companies through regulatory exemptions and active revisions of environmental standards," emphasizing, "We will provide multifaceted policy financing utilizing loans, guarantees, and funds, and expand opportunities for our companies to participate in overseas exhibitions and fairs."


On the same day, Minister Kim visited the Startup and Venture Green Convergence Cluster located in Seo-gu, Incheon, where he held a talk concert with young entrepreneurs operating green companies and made these remarks. This event was organized to listen to the voices of young entrepreneurs active in the green industry field and to explore ways to revitalize green startups.


Since its completion in May 2017, the Startup and Venture Green Convergence Cluster has housed 118 environmental companies. Through support for discovering startup ideas, demonstration, and overseas expansion consultations, it has attracted 102.4 billion KRW in corporate investments and created 675 jobs.


Minister Kim said, "The role of young entrepreneurs with entrepreneurial spirit in the green industry sector is crucial to respond to the increasingly severe climate crisis," adding, "We will expand support tailored to the growth stages of startups?from startup, demonstration, to scale-up?so that young startup companies can settle well and grow in the green industry sector."
