DeepMind and Clover Studio Jointly Develop AI Drone... Securing New Growth Engine

DeepMind Platform, a KOSDAQ-listed company (hereinafter referred to as DeepMind), announced on the 23rd that it has jointly developed an artificial intelligence (AI) drone with Clover Studio, a specialized company in unmanned mobility control platforms.

DeepMind plans to enter the high value-added industrial drone market to secure new growth engines. Recently, the company added drone-related business to its business objectives and has begun to actively enter the market.

A company representative explained, “Based on our proprietary black box technology and Clover Studio’s drone control technology and know-how, we have successfully co-developed radio measurement drones, drone CCTVs, and AI drones. The high value-added AI drone sector is emerging as a core part of the industrial drone market, and demand is rapidly increasing as its utilization expands across various industries.”

Clover Studio is a ground integrated control platform specialist. It provides services including manufacturing unmanned aerial vehicles and unmanned flying devices, as well as consulting and building computer system integration. In addition to integrated management of heterogeneous drones, it collects data and offers visualized data services through a 3D and 4D-based ground integrated control platform.

Clover Studio won a special award at the 2023 Seoul Mobility Awards and received the Innovation Award for three consecutive years at CES (Consumer Electronics Show), the world’s largest IT exhibition, proving its technological prowess in the drone control field.

The radio measurement drone developed by the two companies is an innovative device capable of measuring radio wave conditions in real time across various environments. This enables real-time analysis of radio wave conditions in diverse environments such as UTM/UATM (drone and air taxi control systems).

Drone CCTV is an innovative security solution that can replace existing fixed CCTV systems. Unlike traditional CCTVs that can only monitor from fixed locations, this drone can freely fly and monitor a wide area in real time. It can be effectively used in industrial complexes, airports, large-scale event venues, and other areas requiring wide coverage.

The AI drone is equipped with autonomous flight capabilities and situational awareness, making it applicable across various industries. This drone can set its own flight path and analyze the surrounding environment in real time to select the optimal route, which is expected to enhance productivity in industries such as agriculture, logistics, and construction.

A DeepMind representative stated, “We plan to enter the global market and expand our market share by leading with the high value-added AI drones we have developed. Moving forward, through continuous joint development and investment with Clover Studio, we will launch various customized products and establish ourselves as a leader in the drone industry.”

Meanwhile, according to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport’s ‘2023 National Audit Submission Data,’ the global drone industry market size is projected to grow from $39.02 billion (approximately KRW 52.2873 trillion) in 2025 to $55.77 billion (approximately KRW 74.5923 trillion) in 2030, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 12.6%.
