Songpa-gu (District Mayor Seo Gang-seok) is recruiting participants for the ‘Child-Friendly City 100-Person Roundtable Discussion’ to hear vivid voices on the direction of child policy from August 26 to September 13.

The roundtable discussion is a forum to derive detailed implementation strategies and key tasks for creating a child-friendly city. It will be held on October 9 at 2 p.m. in the main auditorium of Songpa-gu Office. Children and adolescents residing in Songpa-gu, officials from child and youth facilities, parents, and experts will participate.

Participants will be divided into 10 groups and, guided by facilitators, will share opinions, prioritize, and discuss implementation plans on six policy areas. The policy areas are ▲ Play and Culture ▲ Participation and Respect ▲ Safety and Protection ▲ Health and Welfare ▲ Educational Environment ▲ Family Life.

Groups with outstanding activities will be awarded certificates in the name of the district mayor after evaluation.

Applications are accepted from August 26 to September 13. Applicants can download the application form from the announcement board on the Songpa-gu Office website, fill it out, and submit it via email or in person (Songpa-gu Office Child and Youth Division), or scan the QR code on promotional materials to apply through the ‘Naver Form’.

The selection results will be announced individually in September.

The district plans to reflect the policy ideas discussed at the roundtable in the ‘Songpa-gu Child-Friendly City Basic Plan (2025?2028)’ and district administration.

Mayor Seo Gang-seok said, “Since Songpa-gu received the UNICEF Child-Friendly City advanced certification in 2021, related projects have been actively continued,” adding, “We will actively incorporate field opinions and challenge the re-certification for the advanced stage of the UNICEF Child-Friendly City next year.”
